In 2001 we packed up all our stuff and moved to the big Island of Hawaii in hopes of becoming coffee farmers. We rented a house in Kailua-Kona until we found five acres at the right elevation that could be conducive to coffee farming and legally carry the name “Kona Coffee”. We spent 4 years there and at the end we had coffee trees that we had raised from beans that were 14 feet tall. Here is some of the photos and stories we accumulated during our time in paradise.
